Tales from our Inbox: Homecoming Announcement
Due to the winter-like weather expected on Saturday Afternoon, the Howard University Homecoming Steering Committee has decided to move the International Dance Showcase from the Rooftop of the Undergraduate Library to the Armour J. Blackburn Ballroom. The doors for the event opens at 5pm and is scheduled to start homecoming off on a Rhythmic High.
But despite the move, many persons have been asking, “What is ‘Cadence’? With only one day left for the event, we will allow some insight to the show, to alleviate further speculation.
Saturday evening, what should you expect at the 1st Homecoming International Event? What should you come prepared for with this event?
The show is going to be a mixture of “a Performance Concert and in true Howard style, a good Party,” with cultural dances to represent different parts of the world and 2 world renowned DJs to bring world music to the Ballroom and Hilltop Lounge. The show features NSAA African Dance Ensemble, Washington DC’s own Beat ya feet kings, and coming Live from Jamaica Tony Matterhorn, who is famous for his hit single “Dutty Wine” and his crafty DJ skills.
So prospective patrons, Loosen your necks, and come out ready to dance Saturday evening. Cadence is Homecoming’s International Launch Party.
